A cinematic and musical tour of Prague Castle and its surroundings, Charles Bridge and Old Town. Violin virtuoso Jaroslav Svěcený accompanied by the Virtuosi Pragenses Chamber Orchestra will not only perform works by Antonio Vivaldi and František Benda on six unique Prague violins from the 18th and 19th centuries, but he will also talk about the craftsmen who made them. The DVD offer choice of three languages – Czech, English and German. In the chapter History of the Violin in German and English versions you can choose between narration or subtitles. Jaroslav Svěcený plays famous Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in historical locations of the Prague Castle. He will take us on the tour through interiors and exteriors of this unique architectural jewel. Each Suite is performed in different part of the Castle, including places not open to public and is played with different violin made by Prague’s violin-makers in 18th and 19th century. |
